NX 20919 Fly-by-wire Installation
The following article documents the installation of a Nitrous Express 20919 Fly-by-Wire kit on a 2006 Z06 Corvette as installed by

Checking the Contents
After opening the kit, please check the contents against the instructions to be sure all components are there.
Important
Please read the entire instruction manual and make sure you understand it.
This will make things go easier once the installation process begins.
Preparation
Begin by looking the vehicle overall. Pay particular attention to areas that will have components mounted.
This will help in planning the overall layout of the system and help prevent fitment troubles later in the install.
Getting Started
The first step will always be disconnecting the battery.
If your unsure about the procedure, please refer to the service manual for your vehicle.
Bottle Mounting
Find a suitable location for the bottle mount making sure there are no under car obstruction that could be damaged from drilling the mounting holes.
On the C6 Corvette the passenger side hatch area has a child seat anchor bolt hole that can be used as well as plenty of room under the vehicle for mounting the bottle and feed line routing.
Bottle Mounting Plate
Using NX-11108 billet bottle mounts we fabricated a 1/8” aluminum plate and ½” riser block to tilt the front of the bottle.
Bottle Mounted
Hatch area completed and rear mat installed.
Switch Mounting
Finding a suitable mounting location for switches in a late model car can be difficult. We chose to use a NX-15896 switch console for ease of installation and a professional appearance.
Without the required room and inability to hack-up the dashboard we decided to hide the switches inside the console. This required the use of a mounting box. An electronic project box works great for this. The depth of this box does requires 90 degree spade connectors to be used for switch wiring.
Switch Box
Using the console switch as a template cut the top box cover out using a saw or Dremel and file to get a tight fit.
Mount the console assembly and wire per the instructions supplied.
Drill a ½” hole in the front of the lower box to allow wires to exit.
Wiring Console
After removing the console a ½” hole was drilled into the front edge opposite the power outlet. Wires were run back under the carpet for the remote opener and forward under the trim and dash through the ECM grommet in the firewall.
Console Switch
The power outlet access was compromised in order to fit everything under the console lid.
Ignition Power
Finding switched ignition power in a car without a key is no easy task. We chose to modify the powertrain control relay to obtain the switched 12V needed.
Remove the relay and find pin 87. This is the switched power side. After removing the cover I slotted it and soldered a wire to the inside connector. A dab of silicone will seal it up once the cover is reinstalled.
Nozzle Mounting
Find a suitable mounting location for the nozzle. As with all wet type systems be sure to mount the nozzle behind the MAF sensor.
Solenoid Bracket
Because of the limited possibilities with the solenoid brackets supplied and for a better look a custom bracket was fabricated for mounting. A small piece of sheetmetal, a few measurements and  3 bends in a brake was all that was needed.
TPS Switch
This vehicle has electronic throttle control and therefore has no throttle lever to hook a micro switch to. I have seen the micro switch hooked to the gas pedal but on a ETC vehicle the ECM controls the throttle blade and even if your pedal is to the floor it does not mean the throttle is fully opened. This is where the Electronic TPS switch included with the Fly-by-wire kit comes in handy. It will only trigger the system if indeed the throttle blade is at 100%.
Be sure to follow the instructions provided with the electronic WOT switch and check your vehicle service manual for the correct wire to hook to.
RPM Window Switch
The only RPM activated switches that we know will work with this car are the new digital switches. We used a MSD-8969. Follow the instruction sheet that comes with the unit. The tach signal on the late model LSx engines can be found in the underhood fuse box. Connector C2(grey connector) pin F6(white wire). Window switch must be set to 4 cyl. mode.
Purge Hose Routing
The purge line was done with flexible poly hose and ran up under the cowl covering. A small enough hole to allow a tight fit is required to keep the hose from blowing itself out when the purge is used.
